Shielded Metal Arc Welding

The heat which is provided by the welding power supply heats the stick (which is placed between the two parts of the steel that needs to be welded) and melts it down till they stick together.
Gas Steel Arc Welding
In this method metal is heated by the use of power electrode. The molten liquid at this point is protected by the gas mentioned in the title of this method.
GMAW or MIG is known as one of the most popular welding procedures in metal industry. One good thing about MIG is the clean job that it lefts behind.
Yet there are some disadvantages that should be considered, like the expensiveness of the equipment along with the fact that unlike (SMAW) it can’t be performed in open spaces due to the gas protection.
Flux Cores Arc Welding
You can consider this method an improved version of SMAW. This method is done a lot faster than the rest of techniques we mentioned and it is more exact which is why it’s more popular and common to be used in metal industries.
Unfortunately the equipment is too expensive.
Gas Tungsten Arc Gas Welding
This method is best used when we want to attach non-ferrous metals and stainless steel together.
The tungsten electrode used in this type produces the weld.
GTAW or TIG is known as the most complex welding techniques and unfortunately it is time consuming as well.
To be a great welder, one needs to be familiar with all the welding techniques.
But is that enough?
No, sure not. Part of the job is to know the methods while the other half is to know the metal and its alloys. This knowledge would help you figure out how to process welding. Even though there is no ending to the number of alloys but still we are going to discuss some of the most important elements of this group and discuss best welding techniques for all of them.
A great amount of heat should be added to this element to have the welding happen. To make the process happen with only a little welding wound it’s better to use an Oxide-free base.
You can always go for preheating the element since it lowers the cracking probability. Also the process of welding should be done very quickly to avoid sudden burns.
